palm rest wear/fade

my g73jh that i got from a family member has some palm rest fade on it, was wondering if there's a way to restore it without replacing the whole palm rest assembly.

that shit is worn out.

it's rubberized too, right? got a nice oily shine to it now?
you gotta put a sheet of clear film over it to protect it from wear. too late now.

try sanding it with finer grit maybe.

Take it apart and paint it, then post pics in the case mod subforum.

your going to have to tear down as said. Either replace, or repaint/finish it yourself....or just leave it (sounds like you only want to "fix" it for cosmetic reasons)

unless you have automotive grade paint, painting that with rattlecans is opening a can of worms, especially with that being a rubberized surface
