Painkiller Save System

Anyone else frustrated with Painkiller's save system? For example, the first time through, I didn't get the tarot card from the level one boss. I had moved on and was at level two when I decided to go back and get the level one boss card. Having got the card, all of the auto saves that I had past level one are now useless because they do not reflect the new card.

So where's the motivation to go back and get the cards/secrets/etc. with this save system?

Thoughts? Am I doing something wrong?
 
cant you still go to the "map" screen i believe its called, and twirl the pentagram over to your current level/act?

the save files are not as user friendly as most games ..a minor nuance tho
