I'm basicly just wanting to know the rundown on which one would offer more features in the bios and how limiting 1 is over the other. I will not be using the onboard video but just mainly concerned with the oc'ing potential of one over the other with a Q6600.

The P5E-VM appears to have better chipset cooling than the P5K-VM just be looking at the surface. Perhaps the capacitors on 1 are a bit better than the other which is why there is a signifigant difference in cost?

Any input is most appreciated. Thanks

I would also like to hear this as well. I'm torn between these two for a Q6600 in a HTPC.

My htpc with p5e vm + e8400 isnt OCed. Running stock with 2x 1t samsung F1 raid0, onboard graphics+sound. Wanted the raid + better graphics option though onboard sound blows chunks.

Are you using the coaxial digital audio output for sound? That should signifigantly reduce the noise or is it just another issue entirely?
