Indie developer NVYVE has been working on the first-person, open world, utopian, sci-fi, survival horror P.A.M.E.L.A for a few years and it’s almost ready for consumption...the game has now been given an Early Access release date of March 9th

In P.A.M.E.L.A, players wake up from a cryosleep in Eden, a fallen utopian city...being a sci-fi game, there is of course an A.I called Pamela, a lone A.I that will help you surive in the city and also augment your character with special abilities...Loot hunting and character augment upgrades will play a part in the exploration as you attempt to find out what’s happened...meanwhile, Eden’s security team will make life difficult as you attempt to master the power systems to keep elevators and vendor kiosks functioning...

Looks alright...honestly, the more I see of Unity games the more I think it's an inferior engine graphically. Can't help but think that Unreal and Crytek games look WAY better on average.

Game itself looks okay, hopefully not just another zombie survival game.

More never to be fully released early access BS!

Seems like an awesome game otherwise.

Studio Director and Level Designer Adam Simonar answered a question about VR...

Last time we asked about VR and you said you were not concerned about catering for the VR audience. That was in 2015. Since then the Vive and Rift have arrived and P.A.M.E.L.A. looks like it could transfer well to VR so is that something you will look at after all?

AS: We get this question a lot, and I wish I had a more immediate answer for it! We’re considering a potential separate VR mode or companion app at some point, as we do love the potential that VR brings to the table. This would allow us to play with the P.A.M.E.L.A. world in VR, without spending a huge amount of time reworking the base game to support it.

Is this a pure action FPS, strategy, puzzle? I can't tell from these trailers.

To me it looked like a first-person survival "open world" with some apparent base-building elements. Maybe kind of like Bioshock in terms of world size and openness.

P.A.M.E.L.A. Enters Into Early Access With Mixed Reactions

The user reviews are a bit of a mixed bag, mostly due to the fact that P.A.M.E.L.A. is in Early Access..."“Currently, the game crashes often, has a bit of loading time problems, BUT I`m sure that the developers are resourceful crew and will fix the problems! That`s why I`m supporting the “Early Access” version, looking forward for fixes and will update the review once it is polished!”...

They had a rough release, but are actually doing something for their EA title & patching regularly. Seems like they actually care. Probably worth a buy if not now, soon.

I've had my eye on this game since it was announced years ago.

with Early Access games does the price increase once the game goes final?

Depends on the developer...it can, but in general it seems the price stays the same throughout, from what I've seen.

Usually the developer will disclose this at the start if they intend to increase the price.

I was thinking that they offer a lower price during Early Access as an incentive to try the game out early and as a bonus to those that gave them the early support

Yeah...at first that was the case, and you would think that makes sense to do. However, we are getting more and more early access titles that are $30-40, so I guess that's not really a thing anymore.

I was looking at the official Steam page and the game is currently $24.99 which seems like a decent price...

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will be offering P.A.M.EL.A. at a reduced price during early access, with the price increasing upon full launch to reflect the additional content.”

How's the game, if anyone tried it?

The reviews are not particularly stellar, framerate issues seem to be prevalent.

Reviews seem to be mostly good, however one of the negatives I read noted that it appears the developers are wiping progress/saves with each update, so that is definitely something to keep in mind.

they are planning on being in Early Access for 6-9 months so I'm thinking they might need 3 or so months to get the major issues ironed out...

Yea, a little more stability and I'm so in. A little hard to believe this is in Unity...
