I read at Anandtech that the 64bit version of Vista was unable to do 4 Ghz on this chip. Have any of you experienced this in Vista and or Win 7?

if its an issue with vista.. im pretty sure its an issue with windows 7 as well..

I don't know if the CPU works harder (higher power consumption) in 64-bit mode but based on what I've read the 64-bit parts of the CPU are what's limiting the overclock. But don't forget to make sure that the CPU isn't getting too hot.

You have that correct in 64bit mode the cpu users more registers and more parts of the cpu that would otherwise be turned off in 32bit mode, which therefore stresses the processor more.

So the general theory is you will get slightly higher overclocks in a 32bit OS than on a 64bit one.
