It's an i3, are you able to buy some older rigs perhaps some other forum members have for sale? $300 bucks isn't bad, how capable are you if you build a budget rig?

It's not necessarily a bad system per se, especially for $300. But as is, I wouldn't call it a gaming rig by any stretch of the imagination......and being that it is an open box item, you never REALLY know why it was returned or what was wrong with it to start with, or what the busty buy shitheads did to it before they put out for sale..........

So if you spend additional $$ on:

1) New "gaming-capable" video card
2) more Ram (8GB total)
3) better PSU
4) additional cooling
5) Gaming mouse & KB.....

you would STILL be playing with a lower performing, run of the mill motherboard and CPU.... which is NOT gonna be a good experience at all, especially if you try to play a current or newly released game.

Plus you could spend just a bit more $$ and build or buy a much better, faster & more capable system from the beginning & be much happier in the long run

Like bonehead said, you'll end up spending the same amount of money as if you built the machine yourself. You're getting an inferior motherboard and inferior power supply with a Dell. They're simply not designed to be upgradable at all.

it says SD - scratch and dent

any idea on the integrity? anyone had any bad experiences with dell outlet?

dell outlet is great. fast shipping and i have always received what was advertied. i have had several scratch and dents no problems. and great shape

A company I worked for a while back bought close to 100 refurb/S&D etc systems from the dell outlet over a period of 6 months.

We only had issues with 2 of them, which Dell promptly replaced, and even paid for the overnight shipping both ways

My sister OTOH, bought a 15.4" S&D lappy from them not too long ago and got a lemon. Nothing but problems from day 1. It went back & forth for repairs several times, and they finally just refunded her money AND gave her a brand new 17" one with a free 5 year warranty included for her troubles....

It is STILL running like a champ, especially since I just upgraded her to an SSD, 8GB ram and Win 7 HP :)

Delloutlet is the best way to buy prefab computers.

Great prices, same warranty and good service.
I pretty much bought all my stuff from the outlet till I started building my own
