One Million Gamerscore Milestone Achieved

Could he have done this without cheating? It seams impossible. I played a ton of gta and anyone I ever played with that had a score over 200k blasted through the game using trainers.

You guys just don't understand. Look at this from an extraterrestrial's point of view: When you look down on Earth, you see a whole planet full of dumb apes with a high time preference taking out payday loans to buy iGadgets and bombing each other at the slighest provocation. The chances of humanity's Zen enlightenment seem so low that you've nearly resigned yourself to shutting off our mass relay forever to protect everyone else from our impulsive whims...until at long last you see this: The pinnacle of our species and Master of All Patience and Endurance has reached the staggering gamerscore of one million. ONE MILLION! It's superhuman, and by rising above all others this man has fulfilled his destiny and quite possibly saved the human race. We may owe him more than we could possibly know.

This sort of thing is one reason why society continues to grow dumber in the Information Age. The internet is an awesome learning tool for a productive and curious mind, but it is also a tool for efficiently wasting hours/days/years of one's life on vacuous pursuits.

Lol, here I was thinking that me getting to 15000 after 5 years of never having enough time due to school/work/marriage/fatherhood was an achievement. Now I just feel feel like shit.

*Tosses 360 out of window*

I'd be surprised if he can actually quit gaming at this point. Also, who cares if he has a "life". He's having fun and not hurting anybody.
Except for the public's opinion of gamers! :D

I'm picturing the scene with Eric Cartman's mom holding the bed pan to deal with his explosive diarrhea.

I don't know what a gamerscore is....I consider that a good thing. Sounds lame.

For Microsoft games (windows live, xbox 360 and xbox one) there are achievements just like in steam. Only difference is that Microsoft gives you points. used to be every retail game was worth up to a possible of 1000 points. Different achievements gave you different number of points. So something like finding all the data laptops in COD: Ghosts I think earns you 20 points. DLC adds 400 up to a max of I think 2200 for a game title. indy / arcade games on the Xbox had a max of 400 period although they now can earn you as much as a retail game.

So overall not really different than achievements in steam or on the PS4, only that Microsoft gives you points to kind of help give them meaning.

They then decided to start making use of them. This past fall some people with higher scores received free Xbox One consoles. Others with certain scores have received free games. I know this person here has received xbox live gold for life. Which for a non console gamer doesn't mean much, but for somebody that games on the xbox platfroms that is about a $60 / year savings for life so not that bad.

Sure, just requires dedication. Ray from Achievement Hunters / Rooster Teeth has just over 400k and all are legit. I haven't done any research about this guy that just broke 1M, just know that Rooster Teeth was talking with him during the twitch stream of the Titan Fall launch as he was playing the game at the launch party. But maybe this guy has a job where he releases game guides or something. That or he just really likes to game. Either way it is possible

I saw a video on this guy a while ago and I remember him talking about going for the high-achievement low-effort titles, especially the budget/shovelware ones, some just involve game time "played" so he'd just leave it sit overnight.

Even then you can only do that so much with those types of games. retail games give you 1000, indy / arcade games 400.

So that is 1000 completed full retail games or 2500 arcade games (not counting DLC for either). or some combination of the two groups to get 1000000 points.

You still will have a large number of games to complete even if a large number of them are bad games. I would be impressed knowing somebody suffered through 1000 horrible games and kept up with it vs playing 1000 great games. But even though you can think of what maybe 150 - 200 games to be called good or decent. at some point you have to sink down to just playing shit game as there isn't anything else left.
