Has anyone bought a new opty 165/170 in the last few weeks that have the newer steppings (not CCBBE)? I'm picking one up this week and was curious is the latest steppings are oc'ing as good as the ccbbe.

I'm running mine @ 2.6 I could run it 2.7 but after playing BF2142 for a while things would start acting up weird. I have seen people post that they could hit 2.8 to 3.0 if you get lucky but 2.7 seems to be more common for them.

Mine is a Opty 170 by the way.

I ended up going for a used 165. I got a good deal on a ccbbe 0615. I didn't feel like rollin' the bones with these newer steppings. Hopefully a few more will turn up and we'll get some consistent numbers.

Saw this link in another thread (thanks protocol droid). Looks like the lcb9e is a rebadged x2 3800 with added cache. They seem to average 2.6 - 2.8 on the high end.

my 4800x2 is a LCB9E.

That's the first I've heard the LCB9E is a rebadged x2 3800+. The socket 939 3800's are all Machester Cores (except for the 65w Windsor), and they only have 2x512 cache, not the 2x1MB.

I don't think that's right.
