Design looks cool but damn, $5K for a 65" quantum dot MVA panel has gotta be insane.

I would be in for like 2k maybe 2.5k. For 5k I can get a bigger Oled. The gamer mark up on this is just way to much. I have spent some stupid money on monitors over the years. If Samsung comes out with a high end 40inch 4K with VRR or oled LG with VRR I’ll definitely be throwing my money at it. I dropped my 40 inch Samsung 4K with FLAD. I was so pissed, they don’t make a 40inch that nice any more.

My sony 65 inch Z9D which came out in 2016 has 640 dimming zones,120hz (at 1080p), and hits 1800 nits post calibration (I turned it down, seriously this shit is too bright). No active sync though. I got it for $2k. From what I read Sony's dimming tech is miles ahead of competitors. How the hell HP's 1000 nit 144hz $5k?

Cool, only 5G. Now I just have to figure out how to put it on my computer desk without my wife noticing it.

It's $5k because it is an nVidia BFG gaming display and they charge a premium for that crap. They are marketed as ultra-high end displays and charge a huge premium for it.

However to be fair it isn't quite as unbalanced as you want to make it look. This thing has a faster panel, which is not common (most of the 65" panels out there are 60 or 120Hz, not 144), supports 4k@144Hz not just the 1080@120 that the faster TVs do. Also your TV isn't quite as cheap as you make it out to be, that model has been discontinued but the new model the Z9F is $3500 retail.

So no, I still don't think this is worth it, but it isn't quite as out there as you might first think.

The input lag will be real.

When you consider volume, and that HP expects to make a profit on the model, the pricing makes a bit of sense.

Although it's certainly not an 'affordable' option ;)

    ...based on what?

Recent TV's have gotten input lag way down, even into gaming monitor range- and this 'monitor' has a G-Sync module, which all but guarantees low input lag.

You pay for bleeding edge. I paid near as much for qled a few years ago. And the "retail" (dont get why on high end items they inflate msrp, the people buying them likely know its silly) was $8999... honestly for everything they are giving it might be a tad over priced but not insane.

I couldn't imagine spending nine grand on a TV. I wouldn't want to touch it for fear I would break it.

    Paid around 2.2k with 5 year warranty, Samsung NU8000 75" Freesync / VVR / (ALLM) Auto Low Latency Mode ,1080P @ 120hz 6.3ms | 1440P @ 120hz 6.5ms | 4K @ 60hz 15.1ms ,

To me, Radeon VII is Beast, Overclock Hell and back , Power hungy, I havent had slow down or lag, I'm very happy with my whole setup. It's very fun and wonderful, It's been 11 years since I've owned anything AMD Cpu or Gpu wise.

I'm happier with 75" Private Game / Movie Theater lol.

I'm working on my WC setup, Shopping looking for best prices around.

5k is actually a LOT cheaper than I was expecting. Does this have FALD like the demo units?

Edit: reading comprehension fail: it does.

That makes this a pretty good price...

FALD is a requirement for G-Sync Ultimate certification.

Shit, I rented a really nice cube van, had a big friend with me, strapped that sucker down tight and drove 20 mph under the speed limit home! We got it in and after seeing the packaging once opened realized that was probably unnecessary. But after I did get it up and running and gave that sigh of relief, it was off limits to hands...

Does it contain at least 1 dead pixel and a speck of black plastic fragment between the diffusers for $5000?
