Older Mitsubishi need help getting my Apple TV to work

Here my problem I got a Mitsubishi 1080 WS-65413 I hook up my Apple TV with a hdmi adapter on the DVI got good picture when I got my RCA cables connect to my surround sound got no sound then I bought a hdmi converter thinking I just hook it up with the RCA cables to the input got sound but the picture was blurry now don't know what to do n when I hook up a dvd when just RCA cables to the input just see the blurry picture can anyone help thanks

Get an AV receiver with HDMI inputs and hook the Apple TV to that via HDMI and then use the HDMI to DVI cable from the Receiver to the Mitsubishi.

or you could try another extractor box like this one, has decent reviews
