I am using an emachines T6524 as an HTPC. I just bought an HD5450 to use with it so it can play HD content. Problem is, it will not post with it in. I am thinking since this board has never been updated it may be a BIOS issue dealing with the backwards compatibility of PCI-E. Problem is emachines doesn't seem to have any updates. I think it uses an MSI MS-7184 board. Anyone know where I can find an update? Would an HP one work, i know a few of their computers use the same board.

I saw that before and was thinking about trying it. Just tried it and i am getting "unable to update system BIOS (9)" when it runs. Any ideas? Tried in Win 7 and XP. Its running 2 gbs of RAM and an Nvidia 6800xt right now. Could the video card be throwing it off?
Edit: Tried safe mode in both and get same message but BIOS (1)
