I have a cheap "HIDview" 8 ch bnc DVR setup that has utter crap apps for remote viewing (they crash and don't work at all in android) and I can't seem to get any of the other viewing alternatives out there to see it (like I did for my niteowl DVR that died on me).
I'm looking at repurposing and atom setup I have that was running Untangle and throwing a PCI 8ch (at least) capture card in it to connect my cameras to (BNC connectors) and then hopefully use Zoneminder in some flavor of linux or something that would work good in Windows 10 (already installed on the box).
looking at the Comart HICAP100-S2 16-Channel PCI card on ebay for $25 ..but it doesn't have the d-sub to bnc cables with it .. (I don't know if any cable would work).
I'm trying to go cheap yet functionable .. I was trying a USB to 4ch composite device but I can't get more than one connection to work with it using various kinds of security camera software.
Any help, tips ..etc .. would be much appreciated. Thanks!
