I currently have a Geforce Mx 440 64 MB which following upgrade would be a good one, or an 'okay' one?

ATI RADEON 9600PRO or ATI RADEON 9600XT...

or should I just save up and push out for a 9800pro?

for the price they're going now the price/performance ratio is awesome. im loving mine so far. =)
 
Hey!!! are you willing to sell that mx440?!?!?!?!?!!!!! i need a vid card for my folding machine!!! PM me if you're willing to sell... or have you're people call my people.,.. whatever that means..
 
Why don't you just put a Joker card in your AGP slot of your folding machine. It has the same features *chuckle* ;)
 
a little info on your set up would be nice... If it is a slow cpu (under say 1.4ghz) you could save yourself some $ and go with a 9600pro & o/c - but only do this if you are on a TIGHT budget - As Kyle and others have said , the 9800 Pro is an excellent value at this time - a good option (IF and ONLY IF you know what you are doing and are good at online shopping/returns) would be to look at the refurbished cards at newegg.com - that wil save you serious dough.
