Anyone in here manage to get one from the Newegg Shuffle? I've been trying for the last two weeks and no luck. The very first shuffle I entered I did get pick to buy a 6800XT. But it was over $1K and I didn't really want AMD as I was looking for 3070/3080 so I didn't buy it. I have not been picked ever since.

Today was my 19th rejection email from newegg.

If I didn't know any better I would be stumped as to why Nvidia a multi billion bordering on trillion dollar company has such a hard time figuring out how to run a online store. They can make money the world over, just can't figure out how to build and decent website "shrugs".
I imagine it's just not worth the effort. Like why does EVGA have fuckall for stock available and they're still on the first week of their queue system in getting orders in yet you see EVGA cards on sale every week at any major retailer? Same idea, they'd rather sell the majority of their stock to NewEgg, Microcenter, BestBuy, etc and not have to deal with the whole shipping/handling thing. Honestly I don't know why they'd have an online store in the first place, while sure they make more per card it's probably just not worth the extra effort.

Best Buy could easily solve the problem if they wanted to.

I was talking with an employee there the other day. He said they've only received a handful of cards in store. He said every one of them were purchased by real estate investors.

His idea was to have people present a Driver License when purchasing a card, after your initial purchase it would lock you in for a full year and you wouldn't be able to purchase another until your "lock in" was expired. Of course after supply had caught up, the purchase through DL would no longer apply.

Maybe Nvidia in all its wisdom (or lack there of) could take pointers from this employee and apply it to their website.

Um just how the fuck does the employee know who is a real estate investor vs who isnt just from someone purchasing a card? Unless said employee is admitting they were stalking customers? More likely they were bullshitting you.

You learn customers. Get to know them. I figured out that the guys buying ammo EVERY DAY from me at Wal*Mart back in 08'/09' were the owners of the local gun shops. Once I learned what they were doing I started lying to them. "Nope, no ammo came in today." Then when regular Joe showed up at the counter asking if there was any 9mm..."Just a sec, lemme check the back. Yep, just came in! Your lucky day!"

I just assumed that was auto-correct gone bad, because yeah "real estate investor" just seems like such an odd thing to say. I mean was The Big Short playing on their TVs as a demo for some reason and he figured the way they look in there is what real estate investors look? :D

Ultimately we should be mad at just Nvidia for such an abysmal launch, for not sticking to their guns. For selling to miners first and foremost & for offloading the majority of their responsibilities to others, like Best Buy.

In fairness - the biggest online store there is - Amazon - is a complete bot-ridden disaster. They went to Best Buy because they do have a slightly better system and it is evidenced from people here getting cards. You have ZERO CHANCE on Amazon unless you have a bot that auto-checks out. I have paid monitors and I can be holding my phone and click and it is gone. It is nuts.

I will add - Amazon doesn't care and won't fix it - why? Because the same people that auto-checkout with a bot and slurp up all the cards just list it on Amazon's store front so Amazon makes money both ways.

No kidding. On Amazon, it's not a function of human vs. bot, it's which bot is better. A friend of mine has been dabbling with an Amazon bot, but the only thing he could pick up so far was a severely overpriced MSI 3090 Ventus card. I think the only way for the humans to win online is either get an early EVGA Queue spot or get lucky on BestBuy during drop day.

Well, I just got another EVGA reservation email, this time for a RTX 3060 XC 12GB.

Most likely going to my buddy out of state. Whether or not he can resist the temptation to scalp it is another matter.

You should scalp it...cmon, double your money. What has your friend ever done for you? Besides, money is ALL that matters, you either got it, or you're nobody! :vamp:

I just remembered my local buddy, the guy who I did a Zero Budget Build for, only has a GTX 1070 Ti. So I'm upgrading him and can likely sell his GTX 1070 Ti for $440 to eat the cost.

The 3060 is a decent nudge upwards in performance over the 1070Ti... worth it if the swap is net zero cost.

And who is buying these 3060s for $750 on ebay? I thought they were nerfed for the higher profit mining (ETH).

Even the 2060 supers are going for over $700 on eBay. I didn't even make any real effort and sold my 2060 super for $690.

I've been entering newegg shuffles for the 3060 card even though I don't want one of those just so if I win I can help out a [H]omie out... but now that you said this, you've convinced me that flipping for a profit is the way to go!

It's a good time to stick with what you have, and spend your money on something else. For instance I have a 10 year old LCD tv that I'm really eyeing at replacing with a 4k that's a bit bigger (currently 46"), even the lower end (cheaper) ones look absolutely fantastic in comparison. And considering the 2021 sets should be coming out fairly soon, might be a great way to get a good deal on a 2020 model! :D

You don't really have to flip a new card if you buy it because every card out there is going for insane prices so just sell whatever card you replace and make your money there and keep the card you really want.

I completely disagree as right now is an unbelievably good time to get rid of whatever you have now and make a crap ton of money if you have a way of getting a new card. It basically evens out unless you're paying an insane scalp price for a new card. Essentially if you can get a card brand new for anywhere close to retail price then sell your old card and make some good money. I was a bit stupid and paid $1,000 for an RTX 2080 TI but I just did not want to keep waiting for months and months and months to get the performance I wanted. Plus the RTX 2080 TI was in perfect condition and looked brand new and I even transferred the warranty. It was also the top of the line FTW ultra from EVGA. And worst cases I could throw that on eBay right now and get 1100 or 1200 bucks for it no problem. As already mentioned I sold my RTX 2060 super for $690.

I agree. When I upgraded my wife's 2070 Super to a 3060 Ti, the 2070 Super went to my dad's rig. He was upgrading from a Vega 56 that I bought on [H]ere for ~$200 almost 2 years ago, but I sold last week for $650 shipped. Considering I was in the hole $500 for the 3060 Ti, I made a $150 net profit from the upgrade. Absolutely absurd that I made money after upgrading these PCs. My brother in law did something similar with the RX 6800 I got for him from Best Buy. I sold it to him at cost ~$620, and he sold his outgoing GTX 1080 Strix for ~$700. So yes, this is a great time to wait in line, get the GPU you want, and upgrade for a net profit / break-even.

That's the plan. This 1050ti is really showing it's age with medium setting in 1080p to play any games.
I keep hoping I'll be able to ditch it soon for at least a midrange card.

You should be able to get close to $200 for that 1050 TI. If you live in a fairly large city then you could probably throw it on Facebook marketplace and get $150 without any eBay hassle or shipping.

I got a notification for the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid...

On the wrong e-mail address

Sent EVGA an email explaining, hoping I can get a chance on this round before it's too late.

Who here is still in favor of Central Scalpers? Needs to go the way of Frys ASAP.
Like how the asses say this will minimize sales to scalpers, no sh*t, coz you already scalped them plenty.

Well, EVGA CSR said that it was okay to create a new account for this notification, so I did. I hope no shenanigans are pulled. If all is well I should get it the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid on Friday. At this price you bet that I paid for next day delivery.
