Have you had any problems with ghosting in games? It's got a 6ms GTG rate, but I've noticed some slight trailing occasionally.
I can gladly confirm that there's very little or no input lag on mine, as well.

I'm sensitive to input lag, and this monitor has almost zero. There is some ghosting, not a ton, but definitely noticable.
I love mine though.

I recently purchased an fp241vw from the clearance section on Benq's site and finally I've found an lcd that I haven't returned within 3 days. I absolutely love it! I was taking a chance with the clearance/refurb deal, but I'm really glad that I did now. I ordered one back in December when they went on backorder and cancelled because I didn't want to be waiting on nothing...
Great color representation once calibrated (it's pretty good out of the box too, at least this one was), minimal ghosting, most of which disappears when using the perfect motion setting (though I wouldn't use it past 1, makes the screen darker)
I'm really particular about my monitors and this replaced a 19 Inch CRT that I've been using for the last 6 years.

Mine was cool until one day i had this line running down the majority of the screen. Shows up most on shades of grey, but its pretty annoying when watching movies or playing games too. disappointed...

First, I'd just like to say thank GAWD for HardForum! Believe it or not, I spent the last 6 months heavily researching monitors to upgrade from my old, but trusty 19" Samsung 931BF. I knew I wanted to go 24" and widescreen, but also with better viewing angles. So I learned a ton about the different panel types out there and realized that I would want to avoid a TN panel at all costs. I was more than happy to pony up an extra hundred or two for better viewing angles and colors.
I thought I was going to end up getting a Dell 2408WFP until I read a review concerning input lag. I had no clue what that was, so I did some more learning and, boy, was I glad I didn't get that monitor! I'm not a professional gamer or anything, but I'm very sensitive to things like that (being hard-of-hearing makes you pretty reliant on vision). Did some more shopping and learned about BenQ's FP241W series and decided that's what I wanted since it won over gamers and reviewers pretty much across the board.
Just one problem: I couldn't find any on sale, and when I did, it was often way more than I wanted to spend (like $1000!). Finally, I decided on the HP LP2475W, although it was a little more than I wanted to spend ($550 - $600) and the input lag was not as low as I would've liked, which was roughly 25-30ms according to TFT Central's excellent site. The fact that it was a wide gamut monitor meant that I was probably going to have to buy a calibrator to set it up properly as I heard the default colors were horrible. In any case, I settled on this monitor and waited until I paid off all my debts and had a 3-payday month in which I'd use the extra boost of money to buy it, which is June...right now.
Then, a funny thing happened...on a lark, I decided to look for the FP241W series again, and this time, I lucked out! All THREE versions were available! So, thanks to this site, I did some finishing up research on the differences between the versions and opted for the VW. I got a hell of a deal, I think. According to the site, it's brand new and in stock and for $450!!!! Ordered it today and just got an e-mail notification that it's been shipped already via FedEx (oh, and free shipping too!).
I honestly believe I got the best monitor I could possibly get for my needs/wants and at a hell of a bargain to boot! I still can't believe my luck.
Now that I got to share my story, can anyone suggest a good web page with calibration data for this monitor, at least as a start?
Thanks in advance...looking forward to playing Flight Simulator, Crysis, COD4, Fallout 3, etc. on this sucker!

Well, I finally got my FP241VW today and holy CRAP is it a behemoth! I knew 24" was a hell of a lot of real estate, but it wasn't until I had it sitting in front of me that I could really appreciate the size of this sucker!
So, here's a little mini-review of the monitor: (Side note, forgive the crappy image quality from a crappy digital camera...I was too lazy to fix 'em up in Photoshop)
I ordered it from entercomputers.com where I was astounded to find that it was being sold for a mere $450! (It just went up to $469.99 as of this post) Shipping was via FedEx and FREE, if you can believe it. Naturally I was a little bit worried that it was too good to be true, like it was really a used or refurbished model, but my worries were put to rest when I got the box.

As you can see, it's a professional enough looking box. Packaged nicely and aside from a couple of worn corners, it arrived in good condition.
Opening it up at the top, a packet containing a quick-start guide and CD inside a plastic bag was sitting right on top. There was a block of styrofoam protecting the top, which was easily removed thanks to a handle they actually built into the thing. A little thing like that makes me realize the pains BenQ took to satisfy customers. A power cord and standard VGA cable were tucked in the corners, also quick to take out. The top shelf attachment was inside a styrofoam bag and nestled neatly inside styrofoam packing. Then I took out the bad boy, which itself was also packed in a styrofoam bag with blocks on either side. It slid out nice and easy. After removing the bag, I was a little bit surprised to see there wasn't a clear static film protecting the expensive panel, perhaps they thought the bag was enough and didn't want to incur more expenses on an already expensive model.

Here's everything that was in the box. Pretty simple and straightforward, just the way I like it.
Setting up the monitor was easy enough, although I had to make room on my desk for this monster (happily, I might add!). Installing the top shelf is as easy as it was when you were a baby and learning that a square block went into a square hole. Seriously, if you lined it up right (hell, there was a 50/50 chance), all you had to do was push it down gently and let it snap in place. Plugging in the DVI cable was a little bit awkward only because I had to go straight up into it and the screws were so close to the surface that I could only turn a little bit at a time. Not a big complaint, though, because it's not like I'd have to do that on a regular basis. I took my time to make sure it was secured properly and well. Power cord is the power cord, plugged it right in.
For those who do not have a 24" monitor, I have included a before and after picture to give you a better idea of just how big the sucker is, and how it might win you over to buy a 24" (or decide to downgrade to a 22").
The monitor I've had before this one for several years was a 19" Samsung 931BF. Decent enough monitor and it was a nice upgrade at the time, but its age was already obvious by now.

The default settings weren't horrible, but they were definitely not optimal. I did what I could through my NVIDIA optimization wizard, but I have a Pantone Huey on the way that should arrive before the end of this week so I can properly calibrate it. I still need to toy around with the settings a bit more, especially the various modes and the interesting PerfectMotion feature (emulates a CRT's black bar refresh). I played a quick mission in COD World at War just to see what it was like to play on this bad boy. Whoa. I'm never under 24" again!
While it's not really a flaw, I must admit that it's a bit overwhelming and the white background in my Chrome browser damn near blinded me. I don't think I'm done with the contrast/brightness settings yet. I'm finding myself leaning way back and even developing a stiff neck, or maybe it's just because I've been tired all day, I don't know.
There IS one unfortunate thing with this monitor, however, and that's the dreaded dead pixel. Actually, I take that back, that's not really BenQ's fault, it's really a luck of the draw more than anything, and considering that I never had a dead pixel until now, well, I guess I was due. I tried the quick JScreenFix, but no luck. I tried Undead Pixel, but apparently keeps trying to fix pixels that aren't dead (along the diagonal axis of the screen, in fact, anyone know anything about this?). At the same time, however, I'm kind of counting my lucky stars because the dead pixel, while just off to the right of center horizontally, is only about an inch from the bottom of my screen, if that. In games, I'll likely not notice it, especially since it disappears in darker colors.
All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with this monitor so far, at least as far as initial impressions go. After I calibrate it and tweak it to optimal settings and play a few games (especially Flight Simulator), I expect it to blow me away.
If anyone wants me to expand on this review after calibration and spending more quality time with it, just say so and I'll post. In the meantime, I'm going to head over to the hot deals forum and let everyone know of the bargain entercomputers.com is offering, which probably won't last much longer.

whats the deal with the right hanger thing? It feels like it should flip out then lock, but it doesn't. Do I just have a defected monitor?

I know this is an old thread but im really was curious and wanted to ask this question.
what happened to the BenQ FP241VW ? ? im assuming they do not make it anymore as i do not see it on the BenQ site or maybe im overlooking it.

I always hang my usb cables for my digital cam and etc. on it. best monitor everrrrrr
No it's been gone for a while, somewhere between 1 and 1.5 years now.

yeah i LOVE my fp241vw and there was an anandtech article written about 6 months ago stating its still probably one of the best LCDs out there currently. wish i had 3

I had a 30' Samsung LCD that went out on me before I purchased the BenQ.
I like the BenQ quite a lot more. it looks great with the base around it, and it has way better picture quality even at a bit lower max resolution.
I have a friend who is looking to get into pc gaming and I keep telling him how amazing my monitor is. its too bad they do not make it anymore, which is why i simply say..

Are you sure it's not just image persistence? I had this 'issue' on my FP241W, but found that re-arranging my desktop, changing wallpapers at least every month, and having the monitor turn off after 10 minutes of idle made the persistence disappear pretty quick.

Question about this monitor:
I have 2 inputs connected to the monitor; D-sub (for the music server) and DVI-D (for my PC). When I switch between the two I have to press the Input Swap button a number of times to cycle through the options.
Is it possible to disable the options I don't use so I don't have to cycle through them each time?
