Sweet!! I have always wanted a SATA drive, and this one is 250 MB with 16 Megs of cache. Can't beat that. I ordered one.

DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make me charge more money (or is that "cheddar") on my credit card.
    :p

Damn good find though, this drive is like $190 or more on every other site, I'm surprised its not on some shady foreign website (you know the one, bad english, powerpoint clipart, and awful pastel colors everywhere). :D

hehe, i checked reseller ratings before i ordered and they have a good score, so it seems legit. Maybe the drives fell off the back of the Maxtor truck :p ;)

Yeah, I checked the reseller rating also and made sure the Verisign was legit (not just copied from another site).

But I still don't know why this pic...

Is one of the product views, maybe we can plan ahead as to what we can put in the box after we take the drive out?

Or maybe by showing a pic of the box without crushed spots or tears they are trying to show that if it fell out of a truck, it didn't fall far enough to hurt the box.

is this a "true SATA" like the Segates (the 160gig and up models) or a PATA with the converter connection?

    If really SATA im ordering.

Oh this is aweful. I don't need more storage, AND I'd much rather spend the $116 on something else. I can't help myself though. I can't pass on this drive. Somebody help me explain to the wifey.

<edit> there's a Fortron 530 watt power supply for $70 that only raises my shipping by $4. I could use one of those too. ~$200 down the drain. Gee, thanks a lot. </edit>

he stole that link from me (from our personal forum)!!!!!!!!!

    dtiger is such a biter!!!!! :D :D :D

but then again he's my brother, so I forgive him (my fault for not posting it here).

I expected them to run out quick though, such a good price; I'm still a little scared that it isn't true.

Like some crazy dream, where I can afford nice things for my PC and everything is this cheap w/o a crummy rebate (6-8 weeks my 455 more like 4 months)!!!

This sucks so bad, one of you people got my drive! I placed my order yesterday, they charged my card, then today their computer denies the order because I ordered from Germany even though my shipping address is valid (military base). So now I have to wait for the damn drive to come back in stock! This is the last time that I share any of my good deals with you people!

    are you seriously mad?

I remember when I was TDY in Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait; I always had to buy it with PayPal for them to send it to me, but usually I just had anything I ordered sent to my friend's house.

How are things in Ramstein anyways? Its been about 3 years since I've been on that base, gotta admit though, one of the better Popeye's Chicken locations I've eaten at.

Yeah, its a pain to order stuff online from the states, even if you are at a valid APO. But you are in the military, you should be used to being screwed over (I know I was). :D

no I'm not mad. It's more funny than anything. I just have to wait for the hdd to come back in stock then I'll get it at this price. The thing is, if I had kept my mouth shut and not made this thread I wouldn't have to wait for them to get the drive back in stock. As for Ramstein, jacked up as usual, construction everywhere. Gonna be real nice if they ever finish.

Up to $190 now - Bastiges are raising the price. They pulled it from stock when the found out people were making a run on them and then bumped the price $68 the first go round and $78 the second.

Looks like I'm not gonna buy from them if they use tactics like this...

That is utter crap - I ordered this drive yesterday, my card was charged, and then I got an e-mail later saying it was out of stock. So basically it looks like they F'd up the price and are screwing the customer in the end? I'll never place an order with them again.

    Why get pissed?

It very well could be a typo, and they are correcting it. As long as they dont charge you more than what you originally agreed to pay. If they cancel your order, yeah its unfortunate, but its business. Its not underhanded.
