Fans of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee can get a DRM-free version of the old game over at GOG for free. Not the latest and greatest in tech, but a good time waster for a nostalgia trip at the office. The giveaway is part GOG's Big Deal Sale with 200+ deals up to 90% off. Those looking for the New 'n' Tasty version of the game can find it for $4.99.

Embrace the past.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a platform video game developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and published by GT Interactive. It was released in 1997 for the PlayStation video game console, DOS and Microsoft Windows in North America, Australia and Europe.

You are complaining about a free game? Seriously?

New 'N Tasty is well worth it too. Best remake of a classic game I have ever seen.

Yes I own Oddworld New N Tasty PHYSICALLY. And when I'm finished 100 percenting the game I'm going to sell it off for three times what I originally paid for it. You can't do that with the digital version. Making money off a game is better than merely getting it for free.

Yeah, free stuff sucks.

You are entitled to your opinion but in my opinion free sex is way more satisfying than paid sex. To each their own though. It's my understanding that overpaying for sex is actually a real fetish. Might be something you'd like.

Yeah in the few rare cases that works, sure.
Most of the time though, I'll gladly pay a fraction of what it costs on a console/limited run to just enjoy the game. I don't play a disc, I play a game..

It's really really a 1st world problem when games are given out for free and people avoid it BECAUSE its free...

SIGH...

I redeemed it on GoG last night when I spotted it.

I didn't avoid it because it was free. Actually read the thread and not just the last couple of posts.

I read your, but it made no sense.

What is there to lose by getting the free copy of Oddworld and selling the copy you have right now?

Also I wasn't referring to you specifically

I think you are the only person who could give you an answer to that question that would apply to you. I would loose dignity but i'm not sure if you would because I don't know what you have.

Why are you trying to insult someone because you can't handle his logical question?

Right, so you equate dignity with owning a disc with etched pits representing 1's and 0's over owning magnetic bits of 1's and 0's.

I work differently, but long story short, if I own a physical copy of anything, I own it specifically to keep it, the more pricey it becomes, the LESS likely I will sell it.

I have never regretted losing a couple of dollars here and there, but I have regretted NOT buying something when there was still a chance to, or got rid of it and not being able to replace it.

So digital copy along side physical copy would be heaven for me, I have bought digital copies of physical I have owned just so I wouldn't have to damage the original disc due to the (often draconian) DRM they often implement on physicals.

Wrong. I never said that. Did you know that people are different? Well you know that now.
