Alright, well, I recently switched my network over to WPA-PSK from WEP. I have a wrt54g router with the sveasoft satori 4.0 firmware and a canon pixma ip4000r wireless g printer. Under wep, everything worked fine. But when I switched to WPA and reconfigured the printer to use it, I was having problems. It wouldn't get an IP address. After playing around for awhile, I realized that when I turned off the "Firewall protection" option on the router, the printer would get an IP address and work. I thought this was kind of strange because how would this setting affect things operating internally on the network? I think this option might only be available in the sveasoft firmware, but I can't remember what the factory firmware had. Can anyone explain this? I can't figure it out.
That's the setting I'm talking about.
