So I bought a slightly used Agility2 40GB and now I'm trying to flash the firmware from 1.11 to 1.32.
1. I have followed the guide for flashing with Toolbox 2.35 under Win7. Clean install of Win7 x64 home premium to a conventional hdd. Update procedure in Toolbox looks 100% exactly like in OCZ' guide but when I recheck FW it's still 1.11. Tried with safe mode+network, reboots, etc. to no avail.
2. Followed the guide for linuxflashing w/ usb using pmagic-5.10, Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.3.9 and fwupd_v113, again I'm very sure I followed OCZ' guide 100%. Error message given is that "drive is locked or frozen". Tried rebooting, changing sata controller from IDE to ACHI and back again, still to no avail and finaly I ritually slaughtered two chickens while standing on one leg singing the Swedish National Anthem in reverse but that didn't seem to work either.
The last thing OCZ mentions in the guide is that if there's still problems my BIOS isn't right/compatible and that I could try unplugging the drive's power while the system is running (!!?). I'm a little hesitant to do this..
Has anyone out there had this problem and knows a workaround? Or is it OCZ' decision that these drives should not be updated?
Specs of my rig (everything at stock settings, latest MB bios);
Q6600
Asus P5K
2x2GB Corsair XMS2, 2x1GB Corsair XMS2
XFX HD4870 1GB
OCZ Agility2 40GB
Samsung F4 2TB
Samsung SATA DVDRW
Corsair HX520
Peace, out.
