like my asus p5n-e sli :p the bios has an option to turn on sli memory. iono what it does.

EDIT

well just read a review and i guess it has epp so increased peformance or so.

"Developed as an extension to the traditional Serial Presence Detect (SPD) found on today's high performance DIMMS, Enhanced Performance Profiles allow memory manufacturers to integrate additional module performance data in the unused portion of the JEDEC standard SPD, allowing compatible motherboards to read and take advantage of added performance capabilities. EPP brings simplified overclocking success for entry level enthusiasts, and access to more advanced memory specifications and a higher recovery point for hard-core overclockers.

To take full advantage of the Enhanced Performance Profiles, motherboards designed with a special BIOS can recognize the presence of EPP settings. Once these settings are enabled, the system boots directly into the memory's specified settings and takes immediate advantage of the increased performance. "

Woot I had a 7% coupon saved in my cart and it took $9.80 off so $130.19 before rebate.

Anyone know what chips these are?

If you got the OCZ PC2-8500 you listed above, they are the good Micron D9 chips. Great score!

I don't quite understand buy.com's coupon thing. I originally thought it stored any coupons as a cookie and would pull on it as needed. The 7% coupon has been expired for at least 2 weeks. Now I'm wondering if buy.com keeps their own cookie on it's sight and made yourr 7% cookie last longer.

I tihnk my toasted 680i may have killed my Firestix, so I just jumped on this, and I am RMA'ing the Firestix. Thanks OP!

This stuff runs hot at 2.2-2.3v... Make sure you have a fan blowing directly on them (or nearby).

There's really no reason they need to be run at 2.2-2.3v... I have mine at 2.1v @ 1100 5-5-5-12-2T

Most of us are keeping tabs on what has D9's and what doesn't (which is why I chose to order them...I love D9's ;) ). Could you get us some more information though, regarding which D9's these are? GMH or GKX? I'm sure just more than myself would like to know! Thanks in advance!

GKX are usually better right?

GMH=higher voltage for higher OC, lower timings
GKX = rated for higher voltage at stock, and do not like going over 2.4v, for the most part.

I have been asked to post a comment here. :)

The PC2-8500 SLI in question should have D9-GMH chips.

In general the D9-GMH chips are used on the higher line (tighter timings such as Platinum) OCZ PC2-8500 and above (such as Reaper 8500, 9200 or Flex XLC 8500 and up). Now, this doesn't mean that we might not have had some killer GKX chips that binned so well that they made it into some high end PC2-8500 somewhere along the line. That said, it's fairly safe to say that the 8500 modules with tighter timings of 5-5-5 will have GMH.

I hope this helps answer the question.
