NVIDIA Releases Game Ready 381.89 WHQL Driver

NVIDIA has debuted new drivers to prepare gamers for two of the latest releases: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III (4/27) and Heroes of the Storm 2.0 (patch should be live now). The drivers should also improve performance with Batman: Arkham VR, Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, and Wilson's Heart. You may grab the drivers here or check out the release notes.

Changes and Fixed Issues:
  • [Sniper Elite 3]: The game crashes. [1880113]
  • [Notebook][eDP panel]: Blue-screen (code 3B) occurs followed by the recovery screen during software unbundling process. [1900432]
  • [GeForce GTX 1060]: Blue-screen crash occurs pointing to driver (Nvlddmkm.sys) after the system reboots from sleep mode. [1814559]
  • GPU idling voltage has increased. [1904229]
 
just avoid the geforce expericen bloatware.
Then you don't get the telemetry afaik. I am working on an telemetry killer in the spybot antibeacon style, since spybot has not updated theirs for the creatores update.

Sadly, that is incorrect, the standalone driver will install the telemetry stuff. I know, since I do a manual install and have to remove it every time I update my drivers.

GDI i was pretty sure of this. well disabling it is part of my telemtry disabling script so at least it has been covered on my machine :D

Yeah...oddly enough, when Sniper Elite 4 was released, the new nVidia graphics drivers made SE 3 crash constantly every 5 minutes. Completing a single mission could take an hour because of crashes and rollbacks. So, a lot of tinfoil-hat types were saying that it was a cheap ploy to get more SE4 sales right off the bat, since SE3 had basically no issues before that driver was released. I've been waiting for this fix to drop since mid-February.
 
I think it's funny that the list of "open issues" (things they either broke or didn't bother to fix) is WAY longer than the list of things they did fix.

Wow, Bloated 417mb download. Such a waste of bandwidth. Once I install the Graphics driver and PhysX it uses 890MB. WTF!!

Hope it is more than just the 1060. I get this occasionally on a 1070.

I had a 1070 founder's edition (for a week) and it would randomly have no video when woken from sleep. I took it back and got an EVGA 1070 SC ACX 3.0, and haven't had any problem with it since

I wonder if yours would do that instead of blue screen?

For me it's about 2 outta 10 times. I'll see if this update fixes it. It's not enough to make me scrap it.

I had a similar issue with my 970, but it was created after I installed the W10 Creator upgrade. The PC would freeze and only a hard reset would fix it.

I ended doing a system reset and that fixed the issue.

In case that is similar to your problems.

That is not similar but I'll keep an eye out if it happens!


As for the BSOD on the 1070, it still crashes. Just resumed my computer from the night and it greeted me upon wakeup.
I'll just stick with completely powering it down until then, or, I'll re-install, with gfe, and let them have the crash info.
