Nvidia GTX 1070 to Nvidia GTX 1080ti

Definitely worth it if the 1070 isn't meeting your needs. Ti will enable higher settings than the 1070 if you are running 1440p or higher.

1080Ti = 1070 SLI pretty much, so yeah, expect near double the frame rates, assuming you've got the CPU chops to match.

What are the specs of your screen? Do you plan to upgrade your screen if you get the 1080ti?
Going from a 1070 to a 1080ti was worth it for me because the 1070 was not pushing my games to fps to 100fps, and my screen is 100hz.

Tons of reviews show you the actual performance difference so it so its up to you if "its worth it". I sure hope you have a modern oced i7, 16gb of fast ram and an SSD if you are going to spend over 700 bucks on a gpu though.

Yes i7 7700k overclocked, 32 GB of ram, 512 GB SSD

Always wondered if my i5 6600k skylake is bottlenecking my 1080ti...

Yes absolutely in some games such as Watch Dogs 2 and Mafia 3. A 6600k cant even maintain 60 fps in those games where as an oced 6700k or 7700k can.

And before someone ignorantly says an i7 does nothing over an i5 then here you go, the 7700k is getting 50% better performance than even the 7600k and the 7600k cannot keep 50 fps.
