Quite honestly I don't care why I need a certain amount of VRAM. It doesn't change the fact you need it to play at your desired settings.How many of these releases do we need to see to understand this eye candy crap isn't worth it? This is the very definition of "lazy programming". 16GB and a Titan Z for smoothness with those textures? Come on fan boys, really!
Star Citizen for example would crash if I tried to use DSR due to VRAM. With a Titan X I have no such issue.
Regardless the circumstances where you run out of VRAM capacity before GPU raw power are slim and hard to find. Not really a consideration for me unless I was going 3x+ multiGPU.
