{Note to mods: please move if there is a firmware section} Make USB drive report as flash?

I have a device that does not "support" external usb hdd, but I know there should be a way to modify something on the usb disk to have it report as a flash drive. I believe I did it once before but it was a very long time ago.

The drive is a 4TB Lacie Porsche Design drive, and ideally I would like just 1 partition to report as flash so I can mount it with my fire tv.

Imdisk - a freeware tool that I use for its ram disk features, may allow you to do what you want.
It allows you to create virtual disks, which can be marked as a being removable, either from memory, or a disk image etc. By locating the disk image for your virtual removable drive on your 4TB disk, you might be able to achieve what you want.
It's free software, so there's no harm in trying it out...
