Not impressed with iPhone bluetooth range...is it my headset?

I picked up a voyager 520 by plantronics. i have loved everything i have ever bought from them and the headset itself is very comfortable and works great. problem is i can't walk more than like 10-15 ft away without audio getting lots of static. i have a bluetooth adapter for my computer coming tomorrow but i was wondering if the iphone just doesn't have good range or is the headset lacking.

oh, btw, if it matters its a first gen iphone

I get around 30 feet with my jawbone 2 and iphone 3g. So, I don't think the issue is with the iphone.

yeah i guess its the headset...although can't complain it wasn't very expensive

Bluetooth Range is about 30FT.
