According to a report from the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies the North Koreans are marketing a variety of different technologies including facial recognition software. It appears that the NoKo's are very good at hiding their identity by using front companies, websites, and other means to sell software and tech to unknowing companies. What this might mean for cybersecurity is anybody's guess, but it does show that sanctions appear to be easy to get around sometimes.

Center for Nonproliferation Studies researchers said that North Korea's technology industry is a "significantly underappreciated problem," representing a continuous stream of revenue that may directly or indirectly benefit people or companies connected to North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
