I am sure that most people don't give this a second thoght, but since I'm in a mixed environment.. I use Thunderbolt quite a lot. I had a Z270 Maximus Hero IX and it had a Thunderbolt header, which was one of the reasons I owned it.

I'd broken an M.2 retention bracket off the Z270 and wanted to RMA, and I was looking for additional CPU cores since my Mac Pro has been acting up.. saw the Newegg 8700K bundle and nabbed it quickly. I was really thinking the motherboard would essentially be what I already had, but for Coffee Lake. Nope.

I'll live, but it is disappointing. I'm honestly not seeing any particular reason it needed to disappear.

Anyways, consider this a warning for all 3 people on this forum that use Thunderbolt.

O read this about the z270 figures it just got transferred to z370 in it's crippled state
