No idea why, but there is no standby mode when I try to shut down. When I go to the power options, there is nothing dealing with standby neither.

Computer in sig.

Any suggestions?

It's set to STR if I recall correctly. Will check again...now...

Edit: Yep, set to STR. The only other choice is POS.

I installed the latest chipset and video drivers (6.70 and 81.85, respectively). I just uninstalled them and used Driver Cleaner Pro in safe mode and still, no standby...?

You said you just uninstalled them, If i understand correctly you have no stanby mode while you have no video drivers installed? For some reason you must have a driver installed to have standby, reinstall and try again .

Um, yeah. Sorry, I meant I reinstalled them as well. Still no standby...sigh...

Maybe your mobo doesn't support it. Hey my IBM PS/1 Consultant doesn't even have the power saving feature that turns off the monitor. It can't even shut down by itself lol.

hmmm, have you ever had stand-by? and you are sure you have the latest drivers, right? hmmm, looks like you don't have stand-by
