no Rt click in start menu

baffling question.

I can right click on the desktop
I can right click in IE
I can right click in anywhere else
except teh start menu...?

clean install XP SP1
had a couple of problems with not being able to boot. But somehow they went away (w/o changing anything...)

2.6C P4P800 1024MB PC3200 4.3 catalyst...

I think I goofed by installing a bunch of dif drivers all at the same time w/o rebooting. Damn being impatient anyway!

anyway to fix this? I really hate what the default start menu is like

Can you right click on the task bar at all? How about the quick launch bar? Or, How about on the "start' button itself? Or is it just inside the start menu that you can't click (Like in programs).

Same thing happened to me on my XP machine. What I ended up doing was deleting my user account and recreating it. That fixed the problem.

eww I would hate having to redo all teh settings

but if I have to I may just do that.
