Bought a new Gigabyte GTX 960 as my 560 is getting a little long in the tooth. Trouble is, there is no output (it powers up). Tried DVI, HDMI, and DVI to VGA. (Tried 2 different monitors), all say no input.

I have an Asus H87m-e, a 700w Silverstone (more than enough power), and the 960 only requires 1x 6 pin for power vs the current 560 which requires 2x 6 pin.

I have tried the latest bios, removed the CMOS battery and cleared it, no joy.

    I've reseated it several times

I've pulled it out and put it back in about a Dozen times (it's actually card #2, the first did the same and I thought it was DOA... it tested fine though at the company, but they gave me a new one...

(I'm in New Zealand, and the store is at the other end of the country...)

    Boy that sucks!

Did you try a different 6-pin power lead? maybe it's broken.

The only thing I can think of is you not supporting the UEFI BIOS on these new Maxwell cards, but you have that covered with the H87 motherboard.

Maybe try an AMD card next time you venture to the store? You might have a corner-case compatibility issue with this one model of card. PCIe in my experience is is a bit more picky than old PCI bus was. Still works 95% of the time...but you never know.

Hope you don't have to drive north south, that's hundreds of miles :(

EDIT: had a thought: why don't you take your PC to the store, and try out the card there? IT would mean you only have to make one more trip. Ask the owner if you can do that. It's a PC parts store, it should have a tech center.

The store is 1640km~ away... :(

They couriered the replacement card to me...

Ive tried both 6 pin power connectors on my PSU, and also a double molex to 6 pin adaptor... neither made a difference

Do you have a friend, neighbor, or relative with a PC you could try the card in?
