If it's anything else like the other games I have you need to manually search for it and download. There is no system like on Xbox where the game just updates silently.

Pretty nifty, didn't even know Nioh 2 came with the free upgrade.
I got pretty far into Nioh, but never beat it and now my son is playing it on the PS4 Pro I handed down to him. So I may get the collection for PS5 now that this is out and see it plays pretty well on PS5 judging by DF's analysis of it:
