Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad has revealed that Nintendo is teaming up with NVIDIA to release some of its Wii and GameCube games in China for the first time. The confirmed titles so far include Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Punch-out!! These games will be exclusive to the Shield.

Shield owners in China will be able to download and play select Wii and Nintendo GameCube titles, with others coming soon – among them, Super Mario Galaxy. These amazing games have been provided to NVIDIA under license. Customized for the China market, Shield is a completely localized device, with local content, store, search and more.

Wow that is big for Nintendo. They always held a iron grip on their IP. Maybe finally we start seeing Nintendo games on PC?

That's big for nvidia. I wonder if the games are ported or emulated. The shield is quite powerful and already runs GameCube/Wii roms via Dolphin.

It seems the games will be streamed, as iQiyi is part of the deal and they are a streaming service like nvidia Gamestream.

I hope it is running native on the Shield. It would be great if they allowed owners of Shields to be able to play those games outside of China.
