Nintendo Switch Questions

Hey Everyone

I am looking to pickup a Switch for my kids and I was looking at some ebay deals with games.

Can anyone confirm how digital games work?

My understanding is they are tied to the Nintendo ID and thus I would not have access to the games if I registered the console to my own Nintendo ID.

My Googlefu appears to support my suspicion. Please let me know

Your GoogleFu is correct. My suggestion, do not buy a Switch off E-Bay and EXPECT to get the digital game it was originally advertised with.

Nintendo has flip flopped several times on digital distribution. Now it's an account ~and~ hardware. You have to activate the console, and can only have one activation at any given time.

Also check your local used sites like Facebook marketplace or kijiji. I just got a switch with odyessy and Zelda (both physcial) for $350 cad which is $210 less than msrp for it all.
