NFS:UG 2 demo out!

That was pretty fun, can't wait till it comes out.

I might buy a steering wheel just for this :D
 
I decided to download this just for the hell of it. I got it, and was amazed. Online is great fun, even though the one map is getting boring. I think I am going to end up buying this game and playing online because it is definately fun. It'll have to wait till after HL2, and WoW though! :)

i'm a huge fan of the entire NFS series, so this one is definitely going in my collection :)
 
If it IS better than the first than I will definately be playing this. I played the first one twice through.

It just really felt like you were going ridiculously fast, yet you still had control. Awesome game.
 
WOW Free Roam mode is pretty friggin sweet

and the graphics, niiiice

definitely getting this game
 
^^Brent, what kind of system are you going to use with this game? You think it will run okay on a 9800XT @ stock, and 2.2Ghz AXP?
 
It runs dandy at 1024x768 with no AA on my 2100+ with a 9800Pro, so you'll probably be fine.
 
mine runs very smooth on 1280x960 on my 9800xt, barton 2500+ oc to 2ghz

oh and theres online in the demo?

does anyone know what ports or stuff this uses and if it is the same as the original cos I cant seem to get it to work online but the old did. I'm on a uni connection with proxy but every game I have works perfectly online. I can login but just have probs downloading the terms and conditions.
 
does anyone know if it is possible to save the replays somehow so that it can be played back later?
 
After playing it a couple times i've decided that i really hate the hud. Something about it is just not right. When playing the first NFSU and concentrating on my car i could make out the tach just fine, the new one i have no idea what gear i'm in or a good idea of my RPMs. And since i'm not used to the new engine sounds, i was having a real bitch of a time with shifting at the right time, as well the upshift light isn't as noticable.
 
Much better than NFS UG1. The cars handle better, the graphics are great and free roam is awesome. Drifting is way different! Runs smooth as glass on my 9800XT and P4 3.0 rig @ 1024 x 768. The full version should rock and best of all, it has my car
(The G35).

Looks pretty promising.
Im glad to see they added more american cars, and more european cars, instead of being totally dominated by japanese cars. But the Esclade... come one now... lol.

what? you didn't see the 05 mustang (sickingly riced out) on the install for the demo?
 
its still a demo though, just imagine the fun we're gonna have with the full version!

Hated the first one, but I'll give the second a try anyway... It's an awesome game, jsut sad they had to rice the cars out.

I liked it a lot. Wish the demo had more to offer. Was over before I started. The roming mode is sweet. Reminds me of Midnight Club II only with way better graphics and much better control. I must say, the decales look a lot better then the original version.
 
Alright, finished downloading, and have to say... The gameplay in this thing completely rocks. The cars are terrible, I hate the all the ricing out... But it's still awesome.

Only game I've played where you can sit there with your breaks on and do burn outs... And then shift to the next gear... And the next :p And donuts rock!!!

This is one game I'll be buying.
 
Here is the deal for those people having problems with FSAA. I don't know if it's just limited to ATI cards... but if you disable horizon fog FSAA works just fine, and the black screen is gone (meaning you can use the high detail setting slider, you just have to disable horizon fog).
 
5% downloaded. i am excited to see how this game is compared to the orignal. free roam sounds like fun.
 
After a few more times playing, i' really cant get the feel for drifting in the city. i need my RSX!

I see you have a R9700Pro? Assuming you're using a recent version of the Catalyst drivers, right click on desktop -> Properties ->settings->Advanced->3D -> Custom -> AA/AF.. change to User Defined and move the slider.
 
Think I'll pass on this one. I'll leave it to my console friends to buy...not too big into this one.
 
What type of control pad would you use for this game. I don't usually play this type of game on PC (only on consoles), but I'm tempted to try it. Maybe I should dig up my old sidewinder..
 
The game seems the same as nfsu1 except for the roam same old game and graphics are not better. Im not saying the graphics are bad but I was expecting improved graphics over the original oh well game still rocks.
