NFS Most Wanted sound question????

I need help with sound. I have 5.1 speakers and a SB X-FI sound card with latest drivers. When I play this game, I only get regular stereo sound out of the 2 front speakers. The game is patched to 1.3. All my other games play surround sound no problem; HL2,BF2, Far Cry, Splinter Cell..........

Does this game not support surround sound???
 
Hmmm..im on a much older M-Audio Revo 7.1 with Z5300 speakers...

works fine for me...not great...but fine...

CMSS3D does a pretty good job. You do have an X-Fi after all. This does not only try to simulate surround with head phones it can also try and turn a stero source into surround. It works decent on my ZS and CMSS3D is one of the biggest reasons to buy an XFi. Unless you just want the best for the sake of it.
 
CMSS3D does work pretty good. I just tried it last night but it's a pain to have to switch it on every time I play NFS because all other games work perfectly with it turned off. I just can't believe they still make games in only stereo output. Every game should have surround sound support.
