I'm going to get a sound card for my custom comp, and I was wondering if regular PCI slots are compatable with PCI x1. Thx

Nope...not even close. Take a look at pics of PCI-E x1 slots and you'll see what I mean.

If they release a good soundcard for PCI-E, then yeah. I don't know if they have any currently, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. I wish nVidia would just include "Soundstorm" with the nF4 boards.

I heard that Creative has a PCI-e 1x card in the works, I also heard that the Audigy's can't really output at 24bit or something like that...so I dunno..

i haven't seen a pic of an nf4 board that didn't have any regular pci slots, so you'll be ok.

The PCIe soundblaster Zenith is scheduled for launch in march of next year. Still, all mainstream Nforce4 boards have regular PCI slots still.

Bingo, they are still including normal PCI slots even on the newest boards.
