nexus 4 screen cracked not responding...

wife's phone fell, screen cracked. The phone still works as far as powers on and phone calls and messages still get to it. But the screen is not responding at all to touch. Also the display looks perfectly fine outside of the crack... no discoloration or anything.

So wife ordered a new glass that came already but what I'm learning is I need to get a glass with the screen digitizer attached like this one:

I'm just trying to confirm before I try to buy this if this is what it looks like what this phone needs. thanks

Yup, a new digitizer should do the trick.

I recently went through the same thing (non functioning digitizer). Removal of the screen from the bezel was the toughest part. It required a heat gun (or hair dryer) and a suction cup (I had a suction car mount that worked). The suction cup method was far easier than using those plastic spudgey tools.

It will save a lot of time and anguish by skipping the whole heat gun and suction cup. And you'll also avoid the chance of light bleed around the edge during reassembly
