Newest revision PS2 warping discs?

I've been wondering lately about PS2's warping discs. Since the new slim unit has been out for a while now, has this actually turned out to be a real problem, or just some BS an XBox/GCN !!!!!! made up?

I've been playing TXR since I got my PS2, the day that the preorder new revision PS2's came in. Not a problem at all, which is my experience.

Watch a lot of movies in my PStwo (slim) and I've never had or even heard of the PSTwo warping discs

I think it's BS. About the only problem I've heard is the laser spontaneously bursting into flames on some modded and unmodded systems.
