I found out that newest intel notebook WiFi card is cheap.
I would like to upgrade my notebook which have mini-PCIe.

I prefer Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6205 card which cost ~$8 -10 USD.

Can these card be installed on the old intel chipset board ? such as GM965 chipset and Core2Duo CPU.

Does the old board have the correct slot for the new card?

Yes, it is the same socket and pinout.

I afriad of CPU and Chipset compatibility.

Because in the centrino timeline always announce new cpu , chipset, VGA, wifi as group.

As long as you've got the right slot on the motherboard for it, you can use it. Intel likes to "bundle" its products (essentially Centrino was an attempt to gain a monopoly over everything used in a PC), but don't let the marketing confuse you. They are separate products.

Based on my own experience I can say that an Atheros AR9832 based card will perform much better than Intel 6205. I my case I've seen 2-3 times better throughput.

Can't speak to this exact model, but I have had issues moving Intel Wireless cards between laptops with different Intel chipsets.

If your old WiFi card was only 2.4ghz then don't expect those antennas to work well with a dual band card. You may have to replace the antenna wires.
