Specs of phone (64GB / 4GB). Very similar to the OnePlus 3 except the ZTE Axon 7 has a higher resolution, USB 3.0 type-C, micro SD slot, slightly larger battery. Only downsides I can see are less RAM (4GB vs 6GB) and custom ROMs are still in question with the Axon 7.

Had last years axon pro for a month or so. Great phone but lacked the build quality and screen quality of the competition. The new metal design and OLED screen have me thinking they might have a winner this time around.

Excuse my noobness on the subject, but what makes this better than say, and LG G3 which can be had at under $200 new? They are very similar in specs.

The only thing they share similar is the resolution, Wi-Fi, battery, and expandable storage. The Axon 7 features an AMOLED vs. IPS on the G3, more powerful CPU+GPU (2-3x faster), USB type-C (the new USB standard).

I would have a really hard time spending this much on a ZTE phone.

ZTE have always been 'throwaway' phones in terms of build quality and reliability. You buy ZTE for that $50 phone that you don't care if it gets trashed or stops working... you don't buy ZTE when you want a $400 near premium flagship level handset that you expect to last a year or three....

I have the pro - it is a great great phone - pretty much the same specs as the 6p but no amoled. the sound is AAH mazing....through the included jbl headphones. It has a special sound processor that makes music sound awesome even through cheap headphones. The Axon 7 I have on pre-order via newegg deal above.
