I had to call but they honored the price drop even though i bought at the earlier price.

I see this sort of thing on many sites. I think it's a way of them hiding a listing without deactivating the item for whatever reason. I saw a power supply listed for $49,000 the other day (different site).
 
Of coarse, a R9 290 under $10,000 and I miss out... figures.

New egg is a joke, I bought a TOSHIBA Canvio Slim II 1TB the other day from those morons, I get a confirmation email from them, credit card is charged, next day I get another email saying that they won't ship it because it's not in stock.

You would think that they would track their merchandise better.
