Hi all, My air cooler on my 3970x just bit the dust, a fan on the inside is only working at 50% and is causing the CPU to throttle. What is a good closed loop water cooler for the 3970x? Not looking to spend more than $150-$160 on a unit. Thank you.

a 280mm or bigger will do just fine. h115i is a good one.
So this is the top of my machine (Where the fans will be mounted on the new cooler) You have three areas: two occupied on the top and bottom with the middle open. I know I'll be losing one of the fans. With a 280mm fan assembly, that will cover both the top and middle, correct?

there is a good chance that therad's end tanks will prevent a third fan.

just a heads up on that one, the cold plate isnt full coverage on a threadripper but it held its own just fine on a 3990x in reviews. so yours should be fine too.
