If you want to stay below USD 200 get the ASUS R9 280 DC2T for USD 190

But if you can spend a bit more go for the R9 290X Tri-X for USD 270 (250 after rebate). For that you should have a high quality 450 - 500w PSU with atleast 36A on +12v rail.

what cpu and monitor res do you have ?

35% more performance for 36% more money.... I'd jump on the 290. That's a good deal.

You have the 2gb model..
That should play any game maxed out..
The only reason I sold mine was it was 1gb.

It's a decent card, but the newer AMD cards will blow it out of the water. There's a lot of good options between $200-$300.

If you can swing it, I just picked up an XFX 290 DD for my girlfriend's PC for $259. If that's a little too much, check out the various 280X models. Both of these will easily outperform the 6950.

then look for the 280 and overclock the hell out of it to keep it at 280X levels =).. a 290 (290X) its just too much for a non overclocked i5 sandy (IMHO:) ).. even some 2500K at +4.3ghz are a potentially a bottleneck to keep things locked at 60fps the 280 its more than enough for 1080P for a 290 with that chip would be a waste of money...

Asus R9 280@190$+free shiping

Sorry I was on my phone earlier. Here are my specs:

FirePower ModXStream Pro 600W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 600MXSP
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
P8Z77-I DELUXE/WD Mobo
VX2250 1080P Monitor

I think I decided on going with the Asus card. Leaves me with my next question. When you guys switch do you need to reinstall the cata drivers?

I would swing for the Radeon 290. You should be able to find them for around 200-250. Also maybe look at buying used off the forum from some good sellers.
