new video card advice??? 9600gt

Local store has a q6600 on sale for 199.99 is that overkill to tag along with a 9600gt? They have the evga 9600gt for 171.00

also, can i expect to play most modern games ok with it?

Im ugrading from a single core 3500+ and 7800gt so im expecting to see some big improvements.

any advice would be great.

Wow that's a great price for that Q6600 and even on the EVGA card for $171 at a local store. You should be fine with that setup on playing modern games right now. You should see a noticeable improvement over your current setup.

if you are considering the 9600gt, I would say go with the 8800gt better card. has more shaders etc...
