I have crushed my front panels headers for the USB ports on this last tear down. I tried bending them back (it's the outer flashing for the ports that got smashed in) and I'm sure it will function fine, but it's a major PITA now when I remove the lid, because it catches.

I like the idea of the broken "reset switch" because of use. :D

Sorry, but the thing has a few delays due to shortages of parts. 1/2 the loop is on the way, I have all the blocks, the second 480 is on the way, and the other 1/2 loop is on hold. :S

I can't wait to get this thing done either lol!
 
When I pushed the cover into the channels the left side/GPU side of the cover is almost flush with the metal where the USB headers would be. It's like my cover is a bit bowed right there. I think that might be the cause of my problems. I'm going to try to form the bow out a bit and see if that helps.

Also just put an order in for some case feet. Going with rubber stick on as I do not want to drill into the case just yet.
 
Matt...I used the Silverstone round feet on my DaBox...worked like a charm with the exception of the ST feet may be designed to fit on the bottom of a recess vs. the protrusion as on Da Box as they have a plastic inner hub that stick out about 1/16 or so. I will be upping pics of my setup - with the painted black finish when I get the PCI-e OCZ SSD Rev delivered...it looks killer with the Silverstone slim optiical, dual USB & 2.5" hot swap drive up front.

Good news:
-Almost my entire loop is here now
-2nd 480 should be here right around the same time as the rest of the loop
-Res clears my Rad by 1mm: in 3 directions O_O
-I now have a camera

Bad news:
-1 fitting short, Sli fittings on backorder
-Have to RMA my CPU-360 due to a stripped screw
 
Does anybody have any clue what type of screw fits a Black Ice Xtreme? I've tried $20 worth of screws at this point and am getting a little frustrated.
 
gah i havent ever owned the xtreme. in other news, my replacement FP USB + audio showed up today. might get it swapped tonight. busy loading up WHS and updates right now in my da box build. then it's data shuffle time. probably 2 days before im stable.
 
Yeah my replacement FP USB + audio got here yesterday..... audio is still broken. Matt, you might wanna look into that.

I am 200% sure it's not my board: This is the 2nd mobo I've tried it on. I'm about to just cut off the audio wires for cleaner cable management.
 
and in other news I need that HDD cage where the 120 over the PCI slot like a mofo. dangling drives ain't kewl in my book.

Ok! So your entire top will be cut out for radiators. so the radiators will be mounted on the outside then, increasing the size of the case.

Hi Zurginator,

Very nice!:D

I'm sending you my prototype of the new Hard drive cage as soon as I get it and test it. You can mount it over your graphic cards, which will give you a much nicer built (2 x 3.5" drive with anti vibration grommets).
No ETA yet, so don't get too excited but I will be talking to the factory today so I should have something for you soon hopefully!

UPDATE: ETA for the new hard drive cage (prototype) is June 23rd. The release will be sometime the last week of August.

I noticed you published the news about DaBox in EU, but one thing that keeps me confused is how to order it... Following the link brings me to the page saying 'we will go EU in April'. If I go to your online store I see the version with the window is out of stock - but is it out of stock in the EU or in the US? Just a few things that confuses me.. (how many are from EU here anyways? ;))

EU just got their shipment of DA BOX.
Back there, you have 2 options: DA BOX Blackheart with window. DA BOX Classic.
They have some decent stocks, and the only stock of DA BOX Blackheart with window at this time.
As far as I know, the shipment is clearing custom this week. So the case should start becoming available in EU this same week.

Sorry but where is this link or stock status? All I can see is your main store link i.e. " http://www.lan-gear.com/shop/ " and there is no blackheart with windows here. Btw, can someone please make announcement dates more clear? I mean I see a lot of december 2010 !? Even on news page your recent EU announcement is dated as " December 17 2010 : DA BOX orders " It is so confusing. I am in Iceland and want to order a Blackheart with windows but at the moment I hesitate to order cos I don´t want to wait till December of course. Can you please give more information. Can we order and get a blackheart with windows soon enough? I am just waiting for your reply to place an order. Thanks... :)
 
Is anyone else having problems getting the front panel audio to work? I get faint static plugging headphones into the pink port, and absolutely nothing from the green port. I really don't know how to determine if the issue is related to the motherboard (Gigabyte P55M-UD4) or the front panel header. The USB ports work just fine...
 
sorry, i have no use for legacy audio, and have never tried them. I only use the USB ports. :S

Hi DungeaonKeeper,

DA BOX (blackheart with window and Classic) is coming out this week.
The shop will be different with an address dedicated to EU for shipping and taxes purposes.
No worries, it will be coming very soon. I believe it has cleared custom and it is shipping to the distribution center today or tomorrow.
The EU shop is ready as far as I know so we should be able to take order very soon.
Otherwise, it will be picked up by one of our distributors (Materiel.net in EU).

I had this issue too. Matt sent me a replacement for free (woo for Customer Support!). It still has this issue. :mad:

I think the entire line is broken from whoever it's sourced to.

Other notes: this was tried on 2 boards, so I know that's not the problem.
 
mattinv... any updates on the HDD cages for Zurg and I? My WHS build all open and untidied is driving me a little nuts!
