The Gigabyte 1080 boards have a new Rev 2 - same part number
GeForce® GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Premium Pack 8G
and the new one
GeForce® GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Premium Pack 8G (rev. 2.0)
When i asked their support what was different, the answer was "I just asked the VGA Marketing and they said the difference is in the PCB but could not elaborate on that."
If I compare the rev 1 and rev 2 web info, it claims that the Rev 2 now has 3 DP/3 HDMI in VR mode versus the Rev.1 having Dual0link DVI, one DP, and 4 HDMI. So, it appears they ditched DVI for two more DP.
Not clear that they made other electrical or temperature related changes.
