So basically I'm looking to slowly upgrade my computer in preparation for Vista and DX10. I currently have a pretty good pair of 512 MB sticks. I want to upgrade to 2 x 1 GB. Here's exactly what I do:
I love to play games, and I'm looking forward to playing Crysis, BF2, HL2: (all episodes), etc. The only thing I overclock is my CPU...so that doesn't mean I need super good memory, right? I was looking at this pair on Newegg. It seems to be a pretty good price with the $40 MIR. Would this be ideal for me? Would it retain its value? Also, I was wondering if I should wait out the RAM purchase until Vista is released...would 2 GB sticks become more mainstream then?
