Did I pick the right memory? Seems like I might have been better off with 2 2gb sticks?

What kind of OC #s can i expect with this memory/cpu/mobo combo?

Anyone running the same mem/cpu/mobo combo care to share your oc settings?

Generally 2x2GB sticks puts less stress on the memory controller (as opposed to 4x1GB), so it might be easier to overclock. The benefit of the 1GB sticks is that they can run tighter timings/overclock higher than the higher density sticks. Basically, you have to test and see how your board plays with the sticks.

Where did you order from? I'd imagine you got a Q6600 G0 revision, in which case 3.2GHz is pretty much guaranteed on air. 3.6GHz is common too, and if you get a really good chip 3.7+ on air is possible. There's really no way to say "this is what you will get" because ever piece of hardware is different, you just have to test and see.

Looks like you got a killer machine overall. My only question is, do you game much? If you do, I think an 8800GT would have been a better buy. The good news is you bought an eVGA, so just use the step-up program to step up to an 8800GT at no loss :D.

I wouldn't trust that Powersupply too far, but it is probably alright since you won't be pushing it too hard with the graphics card.

Also I might recommend a Radeon HD3850 over the 8600GTS 512mb. It should be cheaper and also consumes less power when idle. Also the 512mb versions of the 8600gts simply aren't strong enough to game at a resolution high enough to require 512mb. And if you really want 512mb there are 3850s that have 512 mb cheaper and are still faster cards.

the most i would like to do is 2.8-3.2g out of that cpu oc. whatever runs stable with my memory.
