Not enough info on the key switches or pricing to get me excited yet... but I'm definitely interested to find out more details.

Interesting, especially at the right price. Looks almost identical to the XArmor U9, especially in the top right where it juts out and the three leds. If that's the case and it's just rebranded, I doubt it will be anything special but could be a great entry level mechanical keyboard if the price is low enough.

    For comparison:

Given their penchant for undercutting the competition, I'm hoping that's the case. The XArmor was a decent mechanical keyboard, just overpriced.

If I know Monoprice and trust me I DO! I buy all my cabling from them.... I can bet this keyboard will be like 34.99 for 1 and 29.99 for 10 or more lol ... Just kidding but I hope the price is sub $50.00 and it uses at least ALPS switches.

Needs to cost less than 60 shipped for me to consider buying one to gut for switches

104 switches * 60c per switch in relatively quantity = 62.40 in switches

The impression over at GeekHack is that it's an iOne rebrand (XArmor, QPad, etc). Take that how you will.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's damn near identical to the XArmor and the various rebrands, and I would doubt they would change much of the design especially if the goal is to keep costs down.

If that's the case it will definitely be a lower quality mechanical board, based on my comparisons of the XArmor U9W (ugh I wish there was a better mechanical wireless option!) with my Filco and Leopold boards. It will probably be Cherry MX browns as well, as I think both the U9W and non-wireless U9 from XArmor are both browns. Still, if the price is right maybe it will tempt some people away from the shiny light-up keyboards that are way too popular these days.

    FYI,

I emailed Monoprice about this and they wouldn't give me any info other than it will be monoprice branded.
I followed it up and the only info I got the second time was "we're hoping to have it on sale by march". Ive seen the keyboard its great and you will like the price". Third follow up netted nothing.

It is not yet available. It was simply a link to a promo page for CES.

This should be pretty awesome! I am more than impressed with my monoprice TV mounts and headphones. I'm sure this will be another rebrand for a great price. Mark me down for one...
