I'm disappointed that the 13" isn't getting the Core i5. I'm guessing, and hoping, that with the next hardware refresh they'll get them. Either way it's fine by me, for now, because I can hold off on getting a new one.![]()
Why can't Apple put out a 15" 1920x1200 screen, is it really that hard...especially when they they're charging $2300 for it, really don't want to lug a 17" around to get that res.
Well, if you find a manufacturer that will make that monitor to a cost, I'm sure Apple would consider it. I don't think there is one panel manufacturer let alone a laptop manufacturer that has a 15" 1920x1200 monitor.

Then the display in my friends Dell from 2006 doesn't exist?... Dell, HP, Alienware, Sager, etc.. all have used 19x12 15" displays for 4 years now..
People were modding these displays into some models of MBP's as far back as then also...
They certainly exist, lots of maker actually, but Apple probably thinks the usability is worse or something.
I went ahead and ordered the 2.4GHz i5, Hi-Rez LCD today. My little brother used his college educational discount, so I got it for $1932 shipped. I scored $1200 for my sold MBP (ya gotta love those eBayers who can't wait to over pay for used Apple stuff) and $130 for the Deck keyboard I returned, so my net cost was right about $600. For that 1680x1050 screen, i5 and new Nvidia graphics card, I'll take it!!![]()
So says the sad, little Apple-hater."ya gotta love those Apple fans who can't wait to over pay for new Apple stuff"
